What Is Marvel Crisis Protocol?
Marvel Crisis Protocol (MCP) is a two-player tactical skirmish game where players build teams of iconic Marvel heroes and villains to battle across customizable battlefields. The game blends strategic depth with superhero spectacle, offering a rich experience for both casual fans and competitive players.
What Makes MCP Unique?
Massive Character Roster
With nearly 200 characters and growing, MCP lets you mix and match heroes and villains—even sworn enemies. Want to team up Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus? You can! This freedom allows for endless team-building creativity.
Cinematic Gameplay
MCP captures the feel of Marvel comics and films. Characters behave thematically—Wolverine heals, Spider-Man dodges and quips, Hulk smashes. The rules bring these personalities to life in a way that feels authentic and fun.
Interactive Terrain
The battlefield isn’t just scenery—it’s part of the action. Characters can throw cars, leap off buildings, or smash through obstacles, making every game feel like a blockbuster showdown.
Mission Variety
Each game is shaped by combining two “Crisis” cards—one for securing areas, one for extracting objectives. With dozens of cards, there are hundreds of mission combinations, keeping gameplay fresh and strategic.
Easy to Learn, Hard to Master
The core rules are accessible, but mastering the game requires tactical thinking, clever positioning, and synergy between characters and tactics cards.

MCP at Oxshed Cafe
As the community is still growing we currently only run 3 types of events, Weekly Casual Play, Demo's and Learn to Play.
Weekly Casual Play
When: Every Thursday from 18:30
Entry: £5
Details:
Bring you characters and cards and participate in a night of casual battles between friends.
We have some terrain, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Attendees will be given a special Promo Card, while stock lasts.
While walk ins are welcome, space is limited, so book your spot ahead of time to avoid disappointment:

When: First Thursday of every month from 18:30

MCP League
When: We run 3 Rounds a year:
Round 1: Registration January, Matches from February to April
Round 2: Registration May, Matches from June to August
Round 3: Registration September, from October to December
Entry: £10 per Round
Timeline: Standard
League Details:
Players will play 4 rounds (Intervals) of Swiss Paired Matches, with 3 weeks given to play and report your match with your assigned opponent.
Should two players not be able to complete their game during
the designated Interval, both players receive a loss. If one player
can show they reasonably attempt to schedule their game,
but their opponent was unresponsive or otherwise unable to
complete the game, the scheduling player receives a win (scored
as a bye, see below) and their opponent receives a loss.
Players can play their matches where ever they want, but it must be in person. Oxshed Cafe will provide at least 2 tables every Thursday evening with adequate playmats and terrain, South Oxfordshire Wargaming Society meets the first Sunday of every month and can provide adequate space for players. Please note the league fee does not cover entry to the mentioned locations.
Points are awarded as follows
Win = 3 pts
Loss = 0 pts
Draw = 1 pt
Bye = 3 pts + 14 VPs (Victory Points)
Should we have 17 or more players registered, a top cut tournament will be planned. However, at 16 or less players, the Player with the most points at the end of the Round will be declared the winner, with VPs being the tie break.
Prizing given out for participation and top spots using official AMG MCP league kits.
Normal Roster building rules apply, and rosters can be changed between matches. Please ensure you review your Character and Crisis Cards before them match to ensure they have not changed or been banned/restricted.
Matches and pairings with be scheduled on Longshanks, please ensure you create an account if you do not have one already.
Players will be added to the League Discord channel, please ensure you join the discord, if not already on it
